Starting from video games (Drakengard, Nier, SINoALICE), manga (Thou Shalt Not Die), to the stage drama (YoRHA, Thou Shalt Not Die Zero), everything has been tasted by Yoko Taro. From a variety of media, maybe only the movie (either animation or live-action) and anime that he has never before. Fans were wondering whether the video game director and screenwriter who is famous for his dark stories will make new work in other media.
At the GameStart 2017 event held in Singapore on October 12-15, at a question and answer session, a fan asked Yoko Taro: "Will we get continued from Drakengard?" This was also answered by the director:
"There's Square Enix staff around here, if they give me money, maybe I'll make it."
Furthermore, the fans asked: "In addition to video games, manga, and stage play, what do you want to make most of it?" The eccentric director who always appeared with Emil's mask gives a surprising, interesting and funny answer:
"Maybe you'll be surprised. I actually want to make an adult movie (AV / Adult Video). At least, I want to do it once. But back again, I just did it if Square Enix gave me the funds. "
Hearing the answer, everyone in the room laughed-even the Square Enix staff who attended the event also laughed off. Of course, Yoko Taro's answer is just a joke considering his quirky personality.
Or maybe that was a serious answer from him? who knows...
