ESRB Assume Loot - Box Not Gambling

The number of loot-box systems in various game titles that are released recently, now comes the demand for the Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB) censorship agency to categorize the system as gambling. Only, they do not think so.

According to the ESRB, the loot - box system is not categorized as gambling, although there is an element of probability or probability, players are certain to still receive in-game items, although sometimes the items obtained are not the desired item. They judge, if such a system is more like the concept of collecting cards; sometimes you can get the rare card you want, at the same time, you can just get a card that you already have repeatedly.
ESRB categorizes games by gambling mechanisms in two forms; namely 'real gambling' and 'gambling simulation'. What is considered to meet the 'real gambling' criteria by the ESRB is a game that involves gambling with the native currency, while 'gambling simulation' is a game that has the same basics, just no real transactions happen. The ESRB spokesperson also said that games with real gambling will always be categorized as games that are only fit to be played by an adult audience, in this context ESRB named them AO or Adults Only instead of 'Mature'. Keep in mind that these two rating criteria have differences, and usually games with an 'Adults Only' rating are not very popular.

The ESRB decision reaps a lot of negative responses. Section, the recently released games, such as Destiny 2, Shadow of War, and Star Wars Battlefront 2 will be present next November, allowing loot - box to be purchased using the original currency.

How do you feel about this loot-box system?
