Tekken 7 Sales Successfully Beat Street Fighter and Passing Namco Bandai Target

When Street Fighter V is regarded as the number-one fighting game that is not only preferred by Japanese gamers only but all over the world is experiencing disappointing sales, Tekken which incidentally has a smaller fanbase than Street Fighter was able to show positive sales of its newest series, Tekken 7. In fact, before gamers were made angry at the decision Namco Bandai who released Tekken 7 for arcade machine in Japan first in 2015, and just released it in console and PC 2 years later.
However, who would have thought that did not stop Tekken 7 to sell very well when it was released on console and PC. Released only in June, Tekken 7 managed to carve sales up to 1.6 million copies in August. And within two months alone Tekken 7 managed to penetrate the sales of 2 million copies. This itself was announced by the director and producer of his game - Katsuhiro Harada through his tweet:

Over 2 million now (2017 June to September).
RT@NightmareSteam How many copies has Tekken 7 sold on consoles so far?

Notice again that the questioner specifically asked the sales for the console, so the number 2 million more copy can still be added to the number sold on PC via Steam which reached 314,000 copies (via Steamspy). With this achievement Tekken 7 directly exceeds the target set by Bandai Namco, which targets sales of 2.1 million copies by the end of March 2018. At the same time still have time to sell more until the closure has been set.

In comparison, Street Fighter V itself is reportedly still not able to touch the sales of 2 million copies. Though he has been released since last year. Harada had previously said in his interviews with gamasutra that his team continued to make Tekken 7 remain relevant and attractive to attract players. He also said that Tekken will not fight directly with hardcore fighting games like Street Fighter and Virtual Fighter, since the majority of their players are casual players who do not want to be "Best in the world" but are quite satisfied with defeating their opponents.
